App-solutely more efficient

Back in 2018, engineer by trade Jock Lawrence and his dad were attempting to digitise records on their family farm in Avenel, Victoria. Jock discovered two things in the process. One; most of the systems available were too complicated or clunky and two; there was a gap in the market which he could fill.

Jock enlisted the help of a mate, who also happened to be a developer, and set to work. His mission? To create an app that’s all about making farmers’ lives easier, more efficient, and more successful. And so, in January of 2019 – Mobble was born!

Created by farmers and for farmers, the cloud-based software provides a practical solution that gives famers more visibility and better access to their records on the fly. The app works offline, simplifies record keeping and connects the team – helping farmers make more informed decisions for their operation. Information such as stocking rates, mob and paddock treatments, historic events, compliance information, or sales can all be recorded in the app and viewed by any user with access to that business. Essentially, it’s a digital notebook that all your workers can view, without the need to worry about it going through the wash!!

With big goals for the future, Mobble has recently expanded both in usership and abilities. The addition of the maps feature to the app was fuelled by farmer feedback, which is something Jock prides himself on. “Farmers know that they want”, he says, “it is really important to us that Mobble is built on farmer feedback, listening directly to what they need and applying that in an easy to use solution”. The company has also recently expanded across the ditch, to now have producers and an employee based in New Zealand.

Now with a team seven behind him, almost 1,000 farmers and close to four million stock units under management on the app, the future is looking good for this young entrepreneur and his app! To check Mobble out for yourself, head here: https://www.mobble.io/ or search ‘Mobble’ on Facebook.
