Rural Bank welcomes Rural Finance customers

27 November 2017 |Announcements
On Saturday 25 November 2017, Rural Finance customer accounts were transitioned across to Rural Bank systems.

The move brings all Rural Finance and Rural Bank customers together as part of one specialist agricultural bank, delivering much needed banking services to rural and regional Australia.

“We successfully transitioned around 9,000 accounts from Rural Finance to Rural Bank over the weekend. We are really happy that this happened smoothly and with little disruption to our customers. It was critical for us to ensure business as usual for our customers during this process,” said Rural Bank’s General Manager Agribusiness, Andrew Smith.

“Our team worked through the night on Friday, meaning the majority of the impact on customers was restricted to the hours people generally do not accessing their banking. It was a great result to see all systems live again by Saturday morning.”

Customers that have transitioned from Rural Finance will continue to be serviced by their existing relationship managers. They will now also have access to their accounts via new Rural Bank internet banking and mobile app platforms. In addition, new customers will have the ability to utilise Rural Bank services through Bendigo Bank branches.

The transition of customer accounts has been planned for some time. Since June 2014, Rural Finance has been operating alongside Rural Bank as part of the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Group.

Mr Smith added that both Rural Finance and Rural Bank are driven by a common passion and shared vision to provide specialist financial services, knowledge and leadership for Australian farmers to grow.

“The Rural Finance heritage and contribution to agriculture will live on in Rural Bank. We are now one specialist agricultural bank, and we will continue to support farmers and farming communities across Australia,” Mr Smith said.
