Scamwatch reports $22.7 million lost to dating scams in 2015

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) have advised that dating and romance scams remain a significant concern, with 2,620 Australians reporting losses of almost $23 million via these scams in 2015.

This is a timely reminder ahead of Valentine’s Day and the ACCC is warning the dating community to watch out for requests for financial help from scammers posing as online suitors.
