The Dunes: Premium residential Yorke Peninsula development offered in popular SA holiday destination

13 October 2020 |Media release
Rural Bank has announced the appointment of Colliers International as agents for the sale of ‘The Dunes’ at Port Hughes on South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula. The project initially commenced in 2007 and was acquired by Rural Bank in 2013 with approval for significant expansion.

Will Rayner, Chief Operating Officer at Rural Bank said that the sale is a great opportunity to invest in the region.

“We are confident that the sale will attract significant interest from parties well positioned to take ‘The Dunes’ to the next level. The low operating cost structure featuring land for further approved residential development, a function centre, golf course expansion, clubhouse and accommodation are all considered to present a strong opportunity in a region that continues to grow in popularity”, Mr Rayner said.

“Boasting a Greg Norman designed 9-hole championship golf course, ‘The Dunes’ is home to what is widely considered to be the best golf course on the Peninsula. Since it first opened, the Dunes Golf Course has developed into a thriving community hub, and now has more than 200 members.

“The existing development has already seen the approval and construction of quality housing with scope for significant short and long-term development opportunities to align with demand generated by the area’s appeal as a lifestyle and holiday destination.

“In close proximity to the beach, ’The Dunes’ is well positioned to leverage the rising popularity of domestic tourism and growth in leisure activities such as boating, fishing diving and driving.

“The construction of the Port Wakefield Overpass and Highway Duplication Project scheduled for completion in 2022 will significantly reduce travel times from Adelaide to Port Hughes and the Copper Coast, which is expected to add to the region’s investment appeal and open up further employment opportunities for people across the region.,” Mr Rayner concluded.
