14 April 2021 |Media release

Rural Bank customers affected by ex-Tropical Cyclone Seroja are being offered financial relief with the Bank outlining its range of support options available to affected customers.

Alexandra Gartmann, Rural Bank CEO said "Our thoughts are with those communities and individuals impacted by ex-Tropical Cyclone Seroja. The impact on areas in the path of the cyclone has been severe and it may be weeks before the full extent of the damage is realised.

“Farm businesses and other agribusinesses will be impacted in different ways, so affected Rural Bank customers should contact their relationship manager to work closely with them to develop an assistance plan to ease the financial burden.

“Assistance includes discounted interest rates, fee waivers, and other concessions,”, Ms Gartmann concluded.

Customers with insurance claims should contact their insurers as soon as possible.
