Rural Bank musters future leaders for a career in Australian agribusiness

The Australian agricultural sector has demonstrated resilience and profitability in the face of economic and health impacts over the last 18 months.  Such a vibrant sector needs the best talent to further grow and manage through future scenarios. Rural Bank has today opened applications for its 2022 Graduate Program to attract and invest in future talent.

The program, which has been running since 2013, is tailored to each graduate’s skills, interests and career aspirations. Successful applicants gain valuable exposure to the Bank’s key business areas including finance, credit and lending, marketing and agribusiness sales.

To accelerate their professional development, each graduate benefits from comprehensive training and is mentored by a senior leader at Rural Bank.

Graduates are given opportunities to engage with Rural Bank’s customers, leadership team and industry partners, and join a supportive graduate community with former graduates across a variety of roles in Rural Bank.

Alexandra Gartmann, Rural Bank CEO, said the Rural Bank Graduate Program is a tremendous opportunity for graduates seeking to embark on a career in agribusiness.

“This dynamic and essential industry requires a combination of outstanding, inquisitive and analytical minds and people willing to bring their passion for Australian agriculture to work every day”, Ms Gartmann said.

“The Rural Bank Graduate Program is a key part of our commitment to developing the next generation of leaders in Australian agribusiness, with graduates learning new skills and provided with opportunities to share and explore fresh ideas while connecting with industry professionals.

“Our graduates are provided with extensive training and mentoring in a supportive environment and are rotated across several different teams within the Bank over the course of the program.

“No single graduate will experience the program in the same way because the Bank recognises that each has different interests and goals, so we tailor our program for each individual graduate.

“There has arguably never been a more exciting time to be in Australian agriculture and we look forward to receiving applications from across Australia. Graduates can build firm foundations for a successful career with the Bank and gain valuable exposure to a variety of different industry sectors before deciding upon their specialist area of expertise”, Ms Gartmann concluded.

Who can apply?

Applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree in the past three years in a relevant discipline such as Agricultural Science, Agribusiness, Business, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, IT, Marketing, Economics or Commerce.
