Bendigo and Adelaide Bank activates assistance package for flood affected Rural Bank customers in Queensland

Bendigo Bank, Adelaide Bank and Rural Bank customers in southeast Queensland affected by flooding are being offered financial relief with a range of measures now available to eligible customers. The Bank is keeping a close eye on events in the region and will review and update its response as necessary.

Chief Customer Officer Consumer Banking and Acting Chief Customer Officer, Business and Agribusiness, Richard Fennell said: “This severe weather event is affecting many Bendigo, and Adelaide Bank and Rural Bank customers and staff in the area. We have activated our natural disaster assistance package and want those impacted to know we are here to support them in their time of need.”

“We are offering Bendigo Bank home loan and business loan customers impacted by the floods relief for up to three months. The package of measures we are extending also includes discounted interest rates, fee waivers and other concessions. Our team is working hard to make sure requests for assistance are managed as quickly as possible.”

The Bank understands the impact severe weather events such as floods can have on customers financially. The key features of the Assistance Package for flood affected customers of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, Rural Bank and Adelaide Bank include:

  • Home Loan and Business Loan customers can apply for relief on loans for up to three months
  • Discounted interest rates on new personal loans taken out by existing Bendigo Bank customers
  • Waiving of interest rate reduction for early withdrawals on term deposits prior to maturity
  • No 'loan break' costs for customers with a fixed rate who use an insurance payment to pay out their loan
  • For impacted customers, Bendigo Bank powered by Tyro merchant customers can apply to have merchant terminal rental fees waived

Agribusiness

Rural Bank customers experiencing difficulty should contact their local Agribusiness Relationship Manager or call 1300 660 115 for assistance.

Concerned Bendigo Bank customers are advised to speak with their local Branch Manager, Business Banking Manager or contact our Mortgage Help Centre on 1800 652 146 regarding financial hardship and applying for assistance or visit: www.bendigobank.com.au/support

Insurance

If you are a Bendigo Bank Insurance customer with a damaged home, rental building, car or other property please get in touch with us. We can help you make a claim or offer advice. To make a claim on your Bendigo insurance policy, please call 13 24 80.

Government Assistance

Queensland residents affected by the flood can apply for payments of $1000 per adult and $400 per child under the Federal Government’s Disaster Recovery Payment scheme.
