I hope everyone had a great Easter break.

This holiday-shortened week will be very quiet in financial markets with many taking the opportunity to have some extended time off.

We do however see the release of March quarter inflation data (on Wednesday) and even though CPI will remain below the RBA’s target range, this is not likely to move markets.

The labour market remains the key for the RBA, or more specifically, the direction of the unemployment rate.

It is clear that the RBA is focussing on the level of unemployment as the trigger to move monetary policy
