Tasmanian farmland values decreased in 2018

Overview for Tasmania:

  • The median price per hectare of farmland in Tasmania declined by five per cent in 2018, following strong growth of 19.3 per cent in 2017.
  • An estimated 30,316 hectares of farmland was traded in 2018, an increase of 9.7 per cent compared to 2017.
  • The total value of farmland traded in 2018 was $221.4 million, a decrease of 4.6 per cent compared to 2017.
  • The Northern region experienced the largest decline in median price per hectare, recording a 27 per cent decrease compared to 2017.
