Summary of key issues:

  • During the week ending 3 June 2015 rainfall was recorded across all states and territories.
  • Maximum and minimum temperatures were above average over much of northern Australia during the week ending 2 June 2015.
  • The forecast for the next eight days indicates that rainfall is likely in south west Western Australia, parts of coastal and inland Queensland and parts of south eastern Australia.
  • Water storage levels in the Murray–Darling Basin (MDB) increased this week by 82 gigalitres (GL) and are at 40 per cent of total capacity.
  • The world wheat indicator price (US No. 2 hard red winter, free on board Gulf ports) averaged US$234 a tonne in the week ending 2 June 2015.
  • The Queensland young cattle indicator price (330–400 kg live weight C3) averaged 455 cents a kilogram (dressed weight) in the week ending 29 May 2015.
  • The saleyard indicator prices of lamb (18–22kg fat score 2–4) rose in most states in the week ending 29 May 2015.
