A day in life 2

Georgia Sheahan | Mon, 20 Jul 2020

The current climate in Victoria has changed the outlook of my graduate program. I am now back home on the farm, hoping everyday that the internet will not crash. My day is usually filled with plenty of “Team Meetings”, which is how I have had to learn my new role.

6:15 am

A coffee in bed starts my day, watching the sunrise.

I use the time between waking and starting work to complete housework, and if enough time I try go for a quick walk.

8:00 am
Start work. I am currently in my credit rotation which I am finding a great challenge. I am learning how to analyse the data which I had been inputting throughout my previous operations rotation.

I also find myself having at least 3 cups of tea before lunch, being a reason to get up and stretch for a few minutes

12:30 am
A well earned one hour lunch break sees me enjoy making a fresh salad, and get outside for a bit before finishing off the day.

1:20 pm
Lunchtime! I usually sit out on the balcony and eat tuna and salad which I bring from home. I then go outside for a walk around the shops, completing some errands or attending appointments.

5:00 pm

After a long day sitting at the kitchen table by myself, it’s time to rejuvenate. I spend the next hour or so outside on a long run.

On my return, it’s time to start cooking tea, and if it’s Tuesday, I happily make Tacos!

6:30 am
Housemate alarm goes off, so I lay awake waiting for mine to go off. Have a coffee before heading off on my bike to the gym.

8:00 am
Have a shower at work.

8:25 am
Head upstairs, to start the day.

I am currently working in the Regional Investment Corporation, who are inundated with government loan applications related to drought and Agbiz (infrastructure improvements).

I check my emails whilst eating my breakfast at the desk. My emails currently consist of graduate related information as well as tasks that have been assigned to me. Currently my tasks include vetting and data build, so I am getting used to identifying documents as well as inputting data into our data base.

9:30 am
Enjoy a coffee, as well as a chat with someone new at the kitchen.

9:35 am
Head back to my desk to continue with my assignments.

1:20 pm
Lunchtime! I usually sit out on the balcony and eat tuna and salad which I bring from home. I then go outside for a walk around the shops, completing some errands or attending appointments.

2:20 pm
Head back into the office to finish of the working day.

5:00 pm
Head back home on my bike.

5:30 pm
Go for a run around lake Weeroona, and then head to the netball courts to shoot goals.

7:00 pm
Have tea and prepare my breakfast and lunch for the following day.
